Field Service Technician/Mechanic

Location: Tyler, TX

Bobcat of North Texas is looking for professionals interested in a performance-based path to increased freedom and pay to join the highly rated service department of our Longview dealership. Our goal is for this person to begin in our shop learning the ropes from our tenured team and then move into a field service truck you can drive home every night, and take care of customers in the field during the day.

Our Longview shop in particular is known for taking people with potential and developing them into top performers who exceed customer expectations and satisfaction to keep their equipment in production.

WORK HOURS: 7:30am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform inspections required to determine cause of failure is done following established guidelines and are completed with the cause identified.
  • Responsible for the effective repair of machine components in the field, at high levels of quality.
  • Recondition and repair equipment and components.
  • Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned.
  • Pre-order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs.
  • Perform the repairs in a safe and effective manner.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed as assigned and the cosmetic appearance are up to standards
  • Maintain the work area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases in repairs
  • Ensure all records are legible and in compliance with established methods.
  • Report all record keeping daily from the field, even when not returning daily to the company
  • Maintain shop tools, equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintain personal appearance in a professional and neat condition. Wear all personal protective equipment, as required; and urges others to do so.
  • All communications with customers and co-workers are conducted in a manner reflecting respect and integrity.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years working on diesel, hydraulics, construction or ag equipment
  • Ability to work independently of direct supervision in a field environment.
  • Contribution to spirit of teamwork and cooperation through the branch location, specifically with parts personnel and other service technicians.
  • A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a field service technician preferred.
  • Clean driving history.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful.

Our North Texas locations include Fort Worth, Lewisville, Longview, Cedar Hill, McKinney, Paris, Sherman, Weatherford, Stephenville, Tyler, Decatur and Mabank! We have several additional locations opening in the next 12-18 months.
